Hechuan Fishing Island, located northwest of Chongqing in the Hechuan District, is the site of an ancient battleground where the Song Dynasty militia fended off the Mongol army of the descendents of Genghis Khan. The project honors this historic event by preserving and restoring the ancient battle site. The main project consists of 3.3 million square meters of commercial, leisure, business, and residential.
The main city center planning includes an exhibition hall, church, museum, sports and cultural facilities, as well as other public facilities to meet the needs of the island’s residents and guests visiting the historic site. Each district within the overall master plan has its own identity, yet all areas are linked by convenient traffic thoroughfares and green spaces into an integrated whole.
